During his 32 years in The Woodlands, Ed Robb has been actively involved in its growth and development. He has served as a director of the organization now known as The Woodlands Township for more than 10 years, including two years as Chairman of the Board. He currently is the Chairman of The Woodlands Township’s Committee on Governance & Nominations.

Robb is the founding pastor of The Woodlands United Methodist Church. Since its inception in January, 1978, this congregation has been one of the fastest-growing churches in America with present membership of more than 8,000. Under his leadership, The Woodlands United Methodist Church has become a consistent presence in the community providing outreach to men, women, children, families with special needs, military families, students and seniors.

Robb's commitment to the community is evident. He has dedicated his time and energy to many of the organizations that have helped create the strong culture for which The Woodlands has become known. His leadership roles in the community include chairing Interfaith of The Woodlands and serving as a director of the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion and South Montgomery County YMCA. In addition, Robb plays an active role on the steering committee of Reaching Pines, a Montgomery County Women's Shelter project. In 2007 he was recognized for his many contributions by being named a "Hometown Hero" in The Woodlands.

Robb's leadership and service extends beyond The Woodlands to national educational organizations. During the past 12 years, he has served as board chairman and executive director of A Foundation for Theological Education (AFTE), which has made more than $2.5 million in fellowship grants to doctoral students. He also is a trustee and member of the executive committee of Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky.

Robb graduated from Asbury College and Perkins School of Theology, Southern Methodist University (M.Th.). He also holds an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from Asbury College. He is a graduate of the Houston Leadership Forum.

He and his wife, Beverley, have three adult children.
